PITCH ANGLES (TAIL)
PITCH OBJECTS
To get CORALL, PROMICS, ELECTRON or DOK instrument pitch angles one can use either
high resolution or KP (two minutes averaged) magnetic field data.
Magnetic field data, obtained by any magnetometer onboard
INTERBALL/TAIL satellite was processed by A. Petrukovitch, N. Ryb'eva,
A. Scalsky and S. Romanov (IKI RAN).
Available objects are:
-
PITCHKP - Pitch angle calculated for 2 minutes
averaged MF for CORALL, PROMICS, ELECTRON, DOK instruments in degrees.
The object is called
with 2 parameters defining instrument and detector:
'C'=CORALL
(Detectors 0 - 4). 'E'=ELECTRON (Detectors 0 - 7).
'PT'=PROMICS-TRICS (Detectors 0 - 4). 'PM'=PROMICS-MEPS
(Detectors 0 - 7). 'D'=DOK (Detectors 0 - 1).
-
PITCHSC - Pitch angle calculated for high resolution
magnetic field data. The object is called
with 3 parameters defining instrument, detector and magnetometer.
'C'=CORALL
(Detectors 0 - 4). 'E'=ELECTRON (Detectors 0 - 7).
'PT'=PROMICS-TRICS (Detectors 0 - 4). 'PM'=PROMICS-MEPS
(Detectors 0 - 7). 'D'=DOK (Detectors 0 - 1). Magnetometer
parameter:
0 - FM3, 1 - MIF.
-
PITCHKPA - The same as PITCHKP but for arbitrary
direction. The object is called with 2 parameters
defining polar angle (with s/c X-axis, positive direction
is toward Sun) and azimuthal angle (in YZ s/c plane counting
from +Y to +Z).
Angle's values are in degrees.
-
PITCHSCA - The same as PITCHSC but for arbitrary
direction.The object is called with 3 parameters
defining polar angle (with s/c X-axis, positive direction
is toward Sun), azimuthal angle (in YZ s/c plane counting
from +Y to +Z) and magnetometer ( 0 - FM3, 1 - MIF ).
Angle's values are in degrees.
NOTE:
Yrange for these objects should be specified.
