PRESSURE and RAM PRESSURE
PRESS and RAMPRESS OBJECTS
Magnetic field pressure (B^2/8pi) is obtained from KP magnetic field data (2 min
averaged). Plasma pressure (Pplasma = nkTion + nkTelectron) is calculated from CORALL parameters.
Electron temperature is taken to be the half of ion temperature.
Plasma ram pressure is calculated as mnV^2.
Available objects are:
-
PRESS - Magnetic and plasma pressure [nPa]. Object is called with 1 argument:
0 - magnetic pressure (blue), 1 - plasma pressure (red),
2 - total (magnetic+plasma) pressure.
-
RAMPRESS - Plasma ram pressure [nPa]. Object is called
with 3 arguments: 0, 0, 0 - pressure on the plane perpenducular to V;
nx, ny, nz - pressure onto arbitrary plane defined by normal n=
(nx, ny, nz) in GSM frame.
NOTE:
Yrange should be defined for all these objects.
