The PRASSADCO program for the LFEW instrument on the Double Star TC-2 polar spacecraft

Processing of LFEW (Double Star TC-2 spacecraft) calibrated data from level 2 files. PRASSADCO is a computer program designed to analyze multicomponent measurements of electromagnetic waves. It implements methods used to estimate polarization and propagation parameters, such as the degree of polarization, sense of elliptic polarization and axes of polarization ellipse, the wave vector direction. The results can be represented in different visual and numerical formats.


  1. Download files, read_tc2.idl, pra_template.ini, and testing data files 041003-2hour.HA2, T2_SP_AUX_20041003_V01.cdf, and T2_PP_FGM_20041003_V01.cdf
  2. Under IDL (ver 5.5 and higher) type pras,'041003-2hour.HA2','T2_SP_AUX_20041003_V01.cdf','T2_PP_FGM_20041003_V01.cdf'
  3. A new ascii log file 041003-2hour_log.txt, new binary data files 041003-2hour_0226_0410_aux.dat, 041003-2hour_0226_0410_sm.dat, and a new resulting postscript file will be generated in the same directory.
