Master Thesis - Abstract

The main task of this diploma thesis was to study low-frequency electromagnetic effects in the ionosphere connected with human (mostly Power Line Harmonic Radiation, PLHR) and seismic activity. Thanks to the unique data set obtained by a newly launched French micro-satellite DEMETER and their systematic analysis, we have been able to explain some properties of PLHR and to prove a correlation between intensity of electromagnetic waves observed in the ionosphere and seismic activity.
